Tresa Driessen, 94, Minot, formerly of Butte, went home to the Lord on Monday, January 4, 2021. Our hearts are saddened but we rejoice knowing she is in Heaven alongside her soul mate Leon who passed away June 26, 1993. We know they are together again for eternity.

Tresa Lacher, daughter of Leo and Albertina (Kroll) Lacher, was born March 1, 1926 in Minot.  She was raised on the family farm north of Anamoose. While attending school, Tresa would spend her weekends in Anamoose scrubbing floors and cleaning house for her mother's parents, Jacob and Margaret Kroll. Later, she worked on the Henry & Anna Driessen farm where she met Leon Driessen. They were married on November 3, 1943 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Drake. Tresa and Leon made their home near Butte where they raised cattle and small grains until their retirement in 1981. They then moved into Butte and took over the janitorial duties at the Butte School. When the school closed, Tresa worked at Shorty's Bar for several years. After Leon passed away in 1993, Tresa remained in Butte until moving to Minot in 2000.

Tresa and Leon loved to dance and were quite good at it. She was a wonderful hostess and always had the coffee pot on. Her children remember their friends always being welcome and getting fed, no matter what the time of day. She was especially known for her delicious chocolate pudding and liver sausage.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Bev) Driessen of Bismarck; daughters, Rita (Gary) Mehrer and Kathy Officer of Surrey; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tresa was preceded by her husband of 49 ½ years, Leon; her parents; Leo & Albertina Lacher; grandson, Dean Herr; son-in-law, Rodney Officer; sisters, Barbara, JoAnn, Maggie and Emma; and brother Casey. She was the last of her siblings and their spouses to make the journey to Heaven.

A private funeral will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Drake. This service will be live streamed on: BBC Parish - You Tube . CDC recommendations including, social distancing, cleansing your hands and staying away if not feeling well are encouraged. Wearing a mask is required.
