Walter Stolt , 70, Drake, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Trinity Hospital in Minot. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John's Norfolk Cemetery of rural Drake. Arrangements with Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home of Drake.

Walter Erwin Stolt, son of Walter and Evelyn (Finneman) Stolt, was born October 23, 1942 at Harvey, ND. He grew up on the family farm northeast of Drake and attended the nearby Roosevelt #1 country school. As a young man, Walter worked with his father on the family farm. In 1964 he moved into Drake and began working for Bob Marvin at Drake Repair where he did radiator repair and auto body work. He purchased the business in the early 1970's and continued to operate it until retiring in the fall of 1999.

Walter was an avid fisherman and hunter. He volunteered as a hunters safety instructor for many years. He also enjoyed bowling in his younger years.

He is survived by his brother, James (Marcia) Stolt of Minonk, IL; 3 sisters, Delores (William) Rutten of West Fargo, Ardis (Hilbert) Frey of Apple Valley, MN and Betty (Robert) Ahlgren of Eden Prairie, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Melvin and Wilmar.
